Overview
Commissioned to photograph Bath Light Operatic Group’s dress rehearsal of The Addams Family at the Theatre Royal Bath.
The aim was to produce a collection of high-quality images for use across social media, press releases, and reviewer publications, capturing the show’s gothic atmosphere and dynamic performances.
Challenges
- Low-light conditions — the production’s dark, moody aesthetic made capturing detail difficult.
- Tight turnaround — images needed to be edited and delivered quickly for theatre publicity and press distribution.
Solution
- Mounted camera on a tripod to stabilize shots and used a slower shutter speed with a higher ISO for better low-light performance.
- Switched to handheld shooting at times to capture alternative angles and key moments dynamically.
- Balanced technical precision with creative framing to reflect the character and emotion of the performance.

- Delivered a series of atmospheric, high-quality photographs used across Theatre Royal Bath and BLOG’s social media, website, and press materials.
